I recently had the recall service for my 95 4Runner, steering relay rod. I started to have difficulty on cold start after that. I also began to smell gas around the vehicle after it had been parked for a while. The vehicle starts fine after it has been running, but it takes a few turns of the key, and few seconds ( like the gas isn't there ) before the engine will turn when cold.
Smell strongest from passenger side of engine.
No leaks apparent, and not spots on driveway.
Fuel economy does not seem to suffer.
Can anyone tell me if the steering relay service may have precipitated the fuel problem, which I doubt, but was hoping for?
Otherwise, I have read about a fuel dampner that could leak, or BVS valve for emissions?
Please advise.
Sincerely, NorCalDave
