Fuel Tank for an '86 4Runner.

New member here. Just picked up an '86 4Runner and I have a question on the fuel tank. Mine sat for two years before I got it and now I need to replace the tank,pump hanger and sending unit. Mine is a 14 gallon tank,and I found a used 17 gallon set up. Is it a direct exchange or is the wiring different? Will the 17 gallon tank bolt into the same location?
Thanks for any help. New to the forum,but a long time Yota head. Currently have a '02 Tacoma 4x4,a standard '94 truck,a Camry and of course my new challenge...:lookout:!

Have you compared the measurements on both tanks yet?

86 fuel tank.

I've pulled mine out,but the one I found is 300 miles away,and the owner won't pull it to measure until I come pay for it. Working with the YotaYard to get one sent to me. I'm finding that good fuel tanks are as hard to find as rear bumpers! Damn ethanol!
