Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)

everything is really an option. I have both tanks and have for a while now. Ive installed 2 of them, one for a friend used manual valves to switch tanks and mine is electronic and can be done on the fly. Also have mine set up to fill either tank from the factory fuel door.

Did you snag a Gucci LC dual tank fill neck? I've rarely seen them, and when I have they go for over $600.

I'm leaning towards this tank & pump combo atm

Alternately, I can buy the plain Jane $64 tank and use an external Carter pump and inline filter that I already have (spare for my 59 pickup) with a basic sending unit.

Either way il probably just going to install a second analog aux tank gauge... TBD.

As far as transferring fuel, the Ford main/aux tank switch seems neat but I still prefer the idea of remote filling the factory tank from the aux tank's pump via a switch in the dash. I can always revisit this... but for nownthis is the goal.

Pros
• effectively doubles driving range
• adds weight to rear of truck to reduce lift from LC 8-wraps (for me at least)

Cons (things to work out)
• aux tank fill
• aux tank vent

I didn’t, was more than I wanted to spend. I snagged a second filler neck from the junkyard and modified it to mate into the original with a divider just below the cap threads. Point the nozzle back for one tank and forward for the other. Everything is t’d together including evap so it still passes the gas cap test at smog. They didn’t even know it was there.

Rear tank is using a deutchwerks 265 with a holly Hydramat since the factory bronco pump was causing me to go lean at WOT. Just so you know.

Creeping your build thread now... questions probably pending

I didn't see l/know you had done the forester mod, but I have one going in, too. Dang LED bulbs so bright lol.

Did you tie it into your dash light dimmer circuit?

Hey guys, I was just reliving history on Tyler James Inc bumper thread, and thought I should post here as well - we crossed the 100 bumpers threshold last fall - I hope you guys are still loving the bumper!

(I'm putting one on each of our 3rd gens, FWIW)

Now that I've settled on a final version, they are pre-stocked on the new website; no more deposits or waiting for production.

Thanks, you guys

Awesome! I have one from the 1st batch made. It's still running strong as when I welded it up. Actually about to pull it off to fab up a swing out for Jerry cans in a while.

Going to make fender liners to keep the mud and debris out of the wing pockets. Get tons of compliments about the bumper. Most comments are of how crazy the departure angle is. Thanks eimkeith for creating this bumper!

Eta - the f150 tank swap is running strong too!
