full custom exuast headers 3'' tubing all the way back

hey guys this is my custom kit i made up im using the doug thorley long tube header a single high flow cat 3'' tubing into a straight threw muffler and a flow master tip i aslo ordered a afx air fuel ratio gauge it will be here tomorrow im also going to replace the old o2 sensor. I will be wrapping the headers in header wrap tonight il post more pics as the build goes along its gonna be allot of work!

thanks guys yeah i cant wait to finish it all up and go dune bashing! I will post up some videos so you can hear it. yes i am going to add a super charger im just finishing up everything before i buy one. i just picked up some header wrap right now il post a pic of the headers wrapped tonight. doug thorley headers 680$ 3'' mandrel bend kit $138 magna flow cat $103 dynomax muffler $71 flow master tip $30

I have to agree on this. Your ROI might be a loss. 3" is sweet but with all those elbows, it might have enough restriction to be effective.

Before you do the upgrade, see if you can run your truck on a dyno to do a before and after comparison. inquiring minds want to know


If I read you post right, your said that you are going to add an AF monitor or replace? Might want to consider one of those scan gauges that report all the vitals from the obd port.

il ask my uncle he might be able to get it on a dyno im replacing the stock o2 sensors because they havent been replaced sine 77,000 miles im a 150,000 im not going to use all those elbows i have no idea what im going to use till i start building it this kit is not for 4runner this is the o2 sensor gauge that im going to be using.

That's pretty spendy for a wideband man... Any reason why you're going with that over an Innovate or AEM...?

The Innovate makes it incredibly easy to datalog A/F ratios, making your tuning a breeze using the R4 software (if you use URD's stuff) and CamStudio...

Sounds sweet!
My advice would be to NOT wrap the header.. That header wrap will cause your header to rust and deteriorate rather quickly. I would research that quite a bit before I would even consider it.

Agreed, especially if you live anywhere it could get wet. I suppose if blasting sand dunes is your thing this might not be an issue for you though, lol.

I piecing together a 3" system at the moment as well, can't wait to see how yours turns out!

thats just the o2 sensor my uncle recommended i could still return it later and im going to be buy the urd 7th injector kit and there seventh injector add on kit for it that allows you to re**** the timing and includes a better fuel pump

yeah thats all i pretty much do is dune bash i avoid mud most of the time lol and our city just went threw a record droat 100+ days last year no rain. but i herd that the header wrap was suppose to keep the exhaust hotter to exit faster and keeps the under hood temps cooler?

That's true, but ceramic coating does the same thing, and will prolong rather than reduce the lifespan of the header.

Yeah, the wrap will cause the header to rust much faster. My buddy and I both had 1987 corvettes awhile back, both had lingenfelter ceramic coated headers on them, bought and put on at the same time, a year or two later, mine were all nice and shiny, no rust really at all....we pulled his motor to rebuild it about a year later, pulled the wrap off his headers and they were all rusted, he had to purchase new ones they were so bad.....just my $.02....the wrap helps when you're racing and can afford new ones when you rebuild your motor somewhat often but for normal everyday use, I'd think twice about it....

Just my first hand experience with header wrap....
