full time or part time -how to tell

Hi guys
Just looking for ur thoughts. I was in a Toyota showroom Canada looking at 2015 4 Runner Limited. I was told by the new cars sales that this particular 4 Runner Limited has a part time 4 wheel drive system. I looked at the knob next to the gearshift and it has "H4F, H4L, L4L". Is it part time?
It's got me bamboozled.

Per poster below I should have said all four wheel drive limiteds are full time. You can get a 2wd limited which would make my above comment technically incorrect

Just because others didnt specifically answer, but i agree with their sentiment;

Limiteds are either 2WD or Full time 4WD with a center torsen differentials...and the dial allows for the locking of that diff to bolster your 4wd traction in 4hi or 4lo. H4F has the differential unlocked, but modulating torque to all 4 wheels...as appose to locked in H4L and H4L.

SR5 and Trail editions have part time 4wd systems...no diffs, but a dedicated transfer case that works similar to when the Limited has its diff locked. The SR5 has a similar dial with a little different signage, the Trail has a manual lever-old skool as some like to call it.

It is simply ridiculous how these showrooms have people there to answer questions and they have zero knowledge about the vehicles, and they expect the public to have less than zero. You'd be surprised at the argument you can get into if you did just a little research, then went and started to tell these people how wrong they were about the vehicles they were standing in front of.

* See, this is where your expectations are leading to disappointment - that's not what they are there for. It's to engage you, get you to sit down, qualify you, etc., and SAY whatever ka-ka comes to mind to stick you in that chair. Product knowledge is not required by most sales managers, but the above is. Sad but true.

i was just venting...

in reality, i agree with all of you guys...sales men suck. i can only imagine, for every one of US who walks in with actual information and goal on what we want to buy, they get 25 others who are just trolling around to either spend money or see what they can see and are gullible enough to spend money.
