If money is tight, try this one. They used to sell this one at my local Oreilys for this price; this year it is going for double the price on Amazon.

How do your drivebelts look at the moment? The reason is they(ALT + PS) will have to be loosened to get the clutch out. Might as well replace all three if need be.
Make sure to have an in/lb torque wrench and ft/lb on hand, a 12mm regular or stubby for loosing the ALT belt and a 14mm stubby wrench for the PS. You can get the wrenches individually from NAPA, Sears, etc. The link below is for the whole metric kit.

The Durk had a great write up on the fan clutch replacement last year on YT; persuade him to post it here for ya.

Twern't no big thang, but I thought I did it on here...I'll take a look because it's getting hot and a few more FC's are gonna pop.

I'm bumping this thread since I see no point of a new one.
Durk, what were the symptoms of your fan clutch failing? I was on the GWB when I really noticed that my fan is excessively loud while accelerating when compared to other 4Runner's I've heard. I'm the original owner too, but I really can't remember if it was this loud before.

Excessively loud would mean it was locking up. Mine failed by not engaging, sending my temp gauge into the red and causing steam to start escaping from under the hood before I shut her down.

Sounds like mine is locked up then. I'm assuming that this could have something to do with road salt exposure, correct? Do you know if these clutches can be rebuilt? Even then, I'll probably just order an Aisin somewhere online and have my mechanic install it when I get my coolant changed. Thanks for the quick response and article.
