And there were more that arrived later in the day or were simply somewhere else on the dunes when we took these photos. Definitely a cool site to see so many of one model driving across the dunes, sometimes 4 - 5 abreast.
Don't let 2WD stop you. We had two guys with 2WD mode and they did really well.
I think the major thing that is stopping me is my location actually. We don't have anything like that where I live (Tallahasse, FL) ... or, if we do, I don't know about it.
Looks AWESOME! What is that white 4runner doing there? How did it lift the front end? I don't see any ramps or inclines. Where you just accelerating hard?
And where do you setup these events. I'm interested!
Yes I was accelerating pretty hard on the run up to the dune climb.
The wheels jumped in the air because at the base of the dune there was a hump (definition lost in sand) which I hit pretty hard (hence the cloud of sand) before the actual climb itself.
The front skids just hit the sand hump and lifted the front in the air.
Usually someone posts an idea for a meetup in either the Regional Forum or the Trail Planning Forum of various BB forums. The person who posts usually outlines what they are thinking of and others just join in with their opinions/ideas and the plan develops from there.
I try putting any trips I intend going on, in my sig at the bottom of my posts. I would say that between the four/five major BB's for Toyotas, there would be one trail plan each week in SoCal.
Ok here are the videos. Please download and play it then. I am running out of bandwith with my hoster on a monthly basis and I don't feel like paying penalties. I am waiting for some video from Scott of the racing, etc so I will probably update the videos then.
