Functional Crossbars

Hi,

I have the SR5 2017 OEM crossbars but they are too low to the roof as many have experienced.

I am looking for low profile x-bars (for garage door clearance issues) that sit on top of roof rails.

I like these but wondering why they cost a bagazillion dollars? Can I can find something similar but at a more reasonable cost?

you can build it yourself or go to LFD Off Road - Home about 80-110 a bar using oem rails.

Anyone know if the bogus stock crossbars will also work on a 2019 Pro rack? Not sure if same crossbar as other years?

I got the Thule Areobars with the 450r mounts. From Rackoutfitters. About the same price as the ones the OP linked.

They threw in a set of locks for free when I asked them to. Not much, but it was something.

Back to the racks, they look good and are fairly quiet.

Thanks for the LFD, Thule and Rago as more cost effective options. Potential noise issues is something I did not think of.

Ordered LFD cross bars with wind fairing. Just shipped so I'll let you know how it goes when I get it on.

I don't think you need crossbars on a 2019 Pro its a full on roof rack/basket.
So was going to use OEM crossbars on my 2019 Pro to mount light things, so once again does anyone know if the bogus OEM crossbars are interchangeable with those that came on my 2019 Pro? Thanks. Oh and +1 on the LFD crossbars, a friend uses them and they are way more stout than OEM crap. Wont work on the ‘19 Pro rack though, I called them about fitment. Thanks

I have 60" thule aerobars with locks. I've had bikes, paddlebaords, 2x4's, and 4x4's loaded up there with no issues. Also, traveling at highway speeds they are completely silent. I bought them off CL.

The regular crossbars mount differently I believe if thats what you are asking. It goes into the rail and I do not see the slot for the pro.

The LFD mounts the same as the OEM ones on the non-2019 pro.

I have the Malone airflow 2 rails for my stock rack. Super quiet, no impact on mpg and 152 bucks from etrailer and include locks. Honestly, don't see the need to go with Thule or Yakima for more.

I wasn’t going to say my Thules are completely silent because someone will always disagree. But they really are.

Prior to the Aerobars I had Thule square bars I borrowed from my Jeep. I took them off almost immediately. They were loud.
