Funny Turn Signals

Folks,
I noticed in the 03 4Runner ads that the yellow lights on the front bumper were lit as though they were parking lights. That's interesting because my 03's parking lights are in each corner of the headlight structure with the yellow lights on the bumper acting as turn signals.

I just came back from visiting the US for several weeks and noticed the 03 4Runners there with the front yellow lights looking like parking lights.

What is your experience?

The turn signals are used as DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) on some models, so that's why they look like parking lights. The TRUE parking lights are the little amber bulbs imbedded in the upper corner of the headlights.

Well that explains it then. Since I don't have DRLs, my turn signal lights are only that.
