Been scrollin the forum for quite a while, pickin up tips and tricks on the T4R trade. Never knew about the 15 post rule lol. New members read the rules, itll help alot.. I bought my cousins 98 2wd 3.4 v6 SR5 back In Sept 2015 with about 186k. Im the 2nd owner, and my was she well taken care of. Only thing done was rim and tire package from discount and a new starter and ignition

Since then ive delved in and started doin minor (and some major) mods..Considering its a 2wd i figured i need to make it unique, havent done much with cosmetics jist maintenance and upgrades. First thing i did was take her to the dirt,i cant help not offroading,i see dirt as a chance to test the huevos on the old girl. She used to ride nice, till about 2k miles after i bought her, shocks were no doubt done from high speed mobbin. I do most of the maintenance myself seeing as i wouldnt pay money to have someone else do something i culd learn (im a cheap ba*****) first problem i ran into was axle seals blown, she started leakin on both sides January 2k16,no doubt from washboard roads and 2 wheelin lol, didnt have the money or tools to do it so i waited it out for about 2months till a buddy of mine offered some help, took 1 day to replace the seals and have her buttoned back up. 7 months down the road she leaked again. So i took her to my local shop (The Truck Shop SD) with all new parts and had it fully rebuilt. Turns out i bought some cheap rubber or watever made in china seals tht just werent cuttin it. Well now its done the right way with the right parts and shes fine. Had to replace my ujoints on my driveshaft, noticed a shake at about 40mph,crawled under her and found the ujoints in bad shape, replaced them with moogs. So one day i see a 4runner and i actually hear it,thinking to myself i need a new exhaust,i go home and chop my muffler off about 3 inches from the huge muffler we got down there..started her up and DAMN was she loud..after about a week of straightpipe driving i thought i was going deaf. So i tlked to my buddy out her with a 97 4x4 runner all done up about where i can get a new can (muffler) i went with a 16 inch BA muffler by dirtydeedsindustries outta SD cali (where im from) cost me $60 and i can honestly say it was worth it,she actually sounds real good

So i recently, about a week ago decided to put use the shocks and springs i bought with my tax money (yayy taxes). Months before i bought a new upper arm from total chaos knowing tht one day i wuld uprgrade the shocks. So on my days off i started taking her apart, everything was going smooth, till i got to pressing the slug adapter out of the spindle. My uncle who has a 4x4 longtravel 02 tundra helped me out,i had already cut the ball joint on the upper to get a 4wheeldrive balljoint press on there, same thing to press it back in (minus the cutting) Took about 2 days to get her all back to normal. I went with the toytec/eibach 3inch #600 lift shocks paired up with the bilstein 3 way adjustables on the lowest setting. I decided to put them together myself, and reuse the stock tophats since they were still in good condition

Been a while since i posted, moved out to Arizona for my job (wildland FF) Havent had much time to do anything being that im busy with fires and i get 1 day off a week if im lucky. Finally decided to make things right and bought my rear struts and springs. I went with the bilstein 5100's to match the front, and the OME 906's. I can definitely say she rides way better now that all the weight isnt sitting in the rear,on and offroad im pretty happy..btw the pic when my t4r is dirty is before the rear shocks went in,she had a saggy booty xP now its time i start looking for a front bumper, feel free to leave any suggestions
