Fuse Panel Locations / Diagrams? 3rd Brake Light Out

3rd brake light is out.... I check for voltage with a meter and get nothing. I did this by using the alarm remote (which flashes the lights) so I am not sure if the 3rd brake light would flash normally. The bulb looks fine. I also tried holding the pedal down (I'm by myself) with a stick and with all the running back and forth, I don't know if I got the reading when the lights were on.

Anyhow, I would like to check the fueses. Is there only one panel in the front under the dash? Does anyone have a diagram for the panel(s)?

After some more investigation I found the obvious fuse diagram. I also did some more testing.

I took apart a rear tail light (becaue it is too hard to see in the light outside) and pulled out the two brake lights. There is one that is what I call the "constant" .. the one that is always on when the headlights are on. I guess it is the running lights per say.

The other light would be what I assume goes on when you hit the brakes. When I hit the brakes, nothing happens. Testing the voltage, I get nothing.

So, I am assuming there is either a fuse in another panel somewhere that controls the brake lights or something else is wrong.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Is there another fuse panel? Or which fuse controls the brake lights? If the "running" light is working, then why wouldn't the other one be?

Now I'm a little confused. Are all of your brake lights out? That is what it sounds like in your second post. I understand that your taillights are working, but the bulb is a dual filament and the brake lights are wired independant of the tails.

There should be a main fuse box under the hood. In most cars it is somewhere between the battery and the firewall. Probably in a black rectangular box with a big wire loom coming out of it. Your owners manual will show your the exact location. There is most likely a diagram on the underside of the box lid with a fuse map.

If it is a blown fuse, try to investigate a little bit to find out why the fuse blew in the first place. There is usually a reason. Look for frayed wires, water, loose connections, etc.
