Hi All, Newbie here and look forward getting more info on my 4 Runner.

I recently bought a 2003 4 Runner and since getting it I have found that the 4 wheel drive/diff lights just keeps blinking. No matter what I do it stays on all the time. Can anyone please help?

Cheers

V6? Does it drive correctly or does it feels like it gets "stiff" or "bind" when making a tight turn?

CJ3, yes it drives ok and went off this morning by itself! However, I have another warning light issue. Bot the VSC om and VSC TRAC lights stay on and the engine "check" sign has came on as well. I understand that the engine light is something to do with servicing or similar? The other VSC lights I understand are traction control but what can I do to eliminate the light or better still, resolve this problem if indeed it is a problem? I cannot just go to a dealer as I am in the bush in Africa and the nearest dealer would be about 800kms from me. I wanted to get the diagnostics kit for this vehicle but again it is going to be sometime before I get this. Can anyone help on the lights issue?

believe it or not, it can be as simple as a loose gas cap, make sure ur it is in good condition & is tight. also, u can reset the ECU by disconecting the - battery term for 5 min. hope this helps.

Chaz thanks and will try this tomorrow. However, I filled the tank yesterday and noticed that the fuel cap and that area were in new condition. I will re-check this tomorrow amd thanks for the help.

Chaz, great this worked just laeving the battery off for 5 mins. It comes back on often, all three, VSC on VSC TRAC and engine check but at least I have the know how to get it off. Next one, I want to change my automatic transmission fluid and just wanted to know if this is routine or any special steps to take? The vehicle is great!

Back again

All, apologies but the light (4WD) has come back on again. I had to use 4WD over the weekend and since then it has stayed on and it does not have heavy steering so maybe it is not actually engaged. Can anyone help get it switched off please?

Cheers
