Not sure that I would say this. I would say that the LACK of evidence prevailed. IMO, the defense could have sat back and watched while the prosecutor fumbled this case. Since, like we established, no burden lies on the defense and the lack of evidence on the state's part is what got him acquitted.

To win a manslaughter conviction, prosecutors must show only that Zimmerman killed without lawful justification. To win a second-degree murder conviction, prosecutors must convince jurors Zimmerman acted with ill will, hatred or spite toward Martin.

This is why he is set free and it will not protect him from a civil case. He will likely have to wait until after losing the civil case (if he does) to file bankruptcy. Then and only then will he be legally in the clear.

Pretty sh$tty outcome for him and we all know the outcome for Travon was far worse.

Anyone who conceal carrys should keep this story in mind.

Yes, Im entitled to it, but I tried to put it away and view this case objectively. It's pretty clear there was reasonable doubt here. My personal feelings about Z aside, there is no way an impartial jury would convict on the evidence.

Short of the judge saying to the jury "You must convict" in this case, Im shocked he's free. I wonder if the judge will invalidate the verdict.

Atta boy boy George. Skittle boy got what was coming. Color aside, nardowells be on guard. For evil to prevail, good men must do nothing. Zimmerman fought back evil and good people should do the same.

Since ndcent wont answer me maybe you will shed some light on this for me. There are people out there that say he should have been convicted of manslaughter. What evidence did you see to make you come to that decision?

I am just curious because I personally did not see enough evidence for him to have even been charged

The media, DOJ, and president don't have the right to find someone guilty outside of the court of law. This was a farce from day one, when they bypassed the investigation by Sanford police to absolve Zimmerman of any wrongdoing.

My own opinion of what happened, or may have happened, is irrelevant. The only way Zimmerman could have found justice after being denied a fair trial by our race baiting media and politicians was to be acquitted.

Well, first of all, he was found not guilty and I think we should all move on. I'm no lawyer....but I know in my CCL classes (yes I'm a big-time gun rights and CC supporter) literally, the FIRST thing our instructor mentioned is having a CCL does not give you the right to "carry out free-lance police work". He was also told not to pursue the man my the 911 dispatcher and he did anyway.

We also learned in our CC classes not to use deadly force unless you see a life in danger. You are supposed to use equal force to the assailant. In other words, when you're a CC holder you can't go around starting shit with people thinking that you've got the "trump card" if things get out of hand. I think that's exactly what GZ did.....consciously or not.

Because of these things I believe he acted negligently and his actions contributed to the situation. I look at it like a drunk driver or a participant in a bar-fight killing someone and getting manslaughter. They don't set-out to kill someone, but their actions led to someone dying.

However, TM's actions contributed to the situation as well. No one forced him to physically confront Zimmerman. The whole thing is just a tragedy and I don't think there's a clear good-guy or bad-guy.

Well the precident has been set...an unarmed teenager in skinny jeans is rightfully handing your ass to you after you profiled and stalked them into it? Simply pull out your gun and murder them!

He had no right to physically confront Zimmerman either. You can't go around justifying physical confrontation because you feel you've been "stalked and profiled". I don't think he made the best choice either.
