G. Zimmerman

*Self-appointed "neighborhood watch captain"
It's not within his self appointed duties to chase a running kid

You say all this like you were there, but you don't know what happened and none of us ever will.

Speculating isn't doing anything to move this conversation forward.

Neither is all the name calling. GROW UP guys, come on.

Are you the "self-appointed" courtesy captain on this forum by virtue of your post?

The bottom line is that the court case is all about what happened the few seconds prior to Zimmerman pulling the trigger. Nothing more, nothing less.

:lmao:
As a matter of fact, I am.
Is there any thing wrong with wanting to keep this an adult conversation?

The bottom line is that we'll never know what happened and the prosecution couldn't prove that Z didn't act with the intent to kill TM.

Self appointed or not he was looking out for his community. He was chasing him to keep eye contact on him until the cops got there. Obviously not a smart move but he stopped when the dispatcher told him not to. I'm not saying he handled the situation correctly. And yes i wasnt there and only two people could possibly know what happened with one of them being dead, but this was the evidence that was presented in court. And based off that evidence, he shouldn't have ever had charges even brought against him. The best prosecutor in the world couldn't have made the charges stick. They had nothing. Even Trayvon's dad at first said the cries for help on the 911 calls weren't his son. Only to change his mind a while later once it all of a sudden turned into a race war and the media making a deal about it. Dumb things like the Miami heat posting that picture of them all wearing hoodies in protest. The media, and famous people, got control of it and brainwashed people, that were only semi paying attention, without paying attention to any of the facts, into believing he chased down and shot an unarmed African American and was found guilty before the trial ever happened.

Don't forget that Trayvon was Obama's long lost son! Obama beat Jesse Jackson to the punch! Imagine Jesse's anger!

I'm just confused as to how Barry hopes to "unite" America with such obvious race baiting politics. Honestly the media and politicians were so desperate to make an issue out of this, even when there was so little evidence, that it's pathetic. They shuffled prosecutors and judges until they found someone who was willing to compromise justice and make this trial into a political farce. I'm not endorsing what Zimmerman did, I'm not "happy" because he's not guilty, but it's a sad state of affairs in this nation that someone should be found guilty by bottom feeding media, politicians, and civil rights hustlers before even setting foot in a court of law.

Trayvon's family will never see justice for the death of their son, Zimmerman probably got off without any punishment for what was arguably a pretty stupid thing that he did following Martin, the entire country is pissed off and taking sides based on race (or how they want to show that they're NOT being racist)... the only real winners are scumbags like Jesse Jackson who used this as an opportunity to get more money into their personal "foundations"/slush funds, and the media whores who twisted the truth, lied about the facts, and tried to make Zimmerman out into some kind of racist animal who set out that night to commit a hate crime.

We are an asstarded country.

Well said.

can i ask a question i am actually looking for a thoughtful and honest response to?

why is it baracks place to tell the nation that "travyons death is a tragedy and we need to honor him"?

ive never heard obama ever say anything about honoring a fallen soldier, or how we need to recognize the death of someone as a tragedy
im not worried about who travyon was or anything that has to do with him as a person, but why is obama suddenly calling for this?

Good question...but how does this surprise you? Obama has been playing the race card ever since elected! He is playing the blacks just like he is playing the gays, the Hispanics, and the women. The sad part is that it is so blatantly obvious that it is kinda sad to see.

i just dont think its the place of a president who is aiming to be the moderator between repubs and dems, to comment any further than "its the courts decision and we must respect it" i cant see any other president this country has ever had doing such a thing

I've been casually watching the GZ trial and reading this thread. Some very intelligent ppl we have here on T4R, with great insight on a tragic matter. I'm glad GZ was aquitted. I'm sad TM is dead. No parent should ever have to bury their child. It is my worst nightmare. However, the state probably never should have brought this to trial in the first place. The detectives who first investigated, recommended that no charges be filed. The chief, trusting his officers,(rightly so IMO), declined to file charges against GZ. He ended up losing his job, once the media, the admin, and bottomfeeders like Jesse(I knew MLK!)Jackson and Al(Tawana Brawley) Sharpton got involved. The city council caved to PC pressure and gave him the axe. Will he get his job back? The verdict seems to vindicate his decision not to pursue charges against GZ. IMHO he should get his job back with lost pay and an apology from the city council. Could've saved the taxpayers a s-load of $$$!

But then the media couldn't fawn all over and analyze that wrongful termination trial too. C'mon now....:painkiller:

All this Monday morning quarterbacking is funny, only George and the dead kid know what happened that night. Bottom line George is alive, kid is dead. All this supposed outrage over one death, but why doesn't Rev. Sharpless get upset over the 47 YTD deaths of black school age kids in Chicago ? Guess Peruvian on black is bad, blacks killing blacks is okay.

End of the day, we have bigger problems than this.

By Labor Day you won't hear another word about this trial and most will forget it even happened.......and GZ will be living as a drag queen in Winnipeg.

Bring a heavy coat, GZ.

This case was NOT about whether Zimmerman should have followed Trayvon. This case was NOT about Zimmerman's phone call to police. This case was NOT about Zimmerman's past actions to become a police officer. This case was NOT about Trayvon's past thug history. This case was NOT about Trayvon being black. This case was NOT about Zimmerman being HISPANIC (or even white for that matter). This case has nothing to do with race or profiling.

This case was about the few minutes or seconds prior to Zimmerman using deadly force as per CCL license (e.g. pulling the trigger). This is about him fearing for his life just prior to him pulling the trigger. Was it justified that he fear for his life at the very moment that he pulled the trigger?

It is strange that some of you blatantly miss the point of this case. ndcent, for all your rhetoric, I am surprise that you miss this point.

Thai - I agree with you that the actual case and the facts within it aren't contingent upon race, but the ramification of a white-black killing are huge and have racial implications. This is turning into a race war as per my link above. I think that a lot of people who posted those tweets are perpetuating stereotypes and really missing the points of this case in the eyes of the law. However, like I said before, Sharpton and them/the media have turned this into a race war. Even if Z profiled TM and said to himself that TM's race made him sketchy or whatever, doesn't matter insofar as the trial is concerned. Being a bigot doesn't make you a killer. However, if the prosecution *could* have proved that Z had a longstanding hatred of blacks etc. maybe they could have swung this as a hate crime. just my thoughts on your earlier post that piqued my interested and I didn't know how to respond till I saw that link.

Did zimmerman have a history of being a bigot? I have not done enough reading on his history. My brief understanding is that he is actually a nice helpful guy around his neighborhood.
