G0P recall

I got the card in the mail, called Toyota, they told me that the passenger airbag is to be recalled.

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation and was told that I need to have the work done and that it will take all day.

I told them I don't have the time, but they said that they have to keep the vehicle there now that they informed me of the recall.

I told them "no" again and they did the oil change and let me go but said that next time I can't refuse and to make plans to have the truck there all day.

Is this normal?

ehhh.. this airbag thing has been going on for a while. Plenty of people have had to leave their vehicles at the lot until there was a solution or the fix could be done.

So yes, I could see them making you leave the vehicle with them.

I received a notice saying mine was recalled for the air bag and to call the dealership to schedule to get it fixed. I called to schedule it and I was told by the service adviser that mine isn't effected. I remember when I bought it new I had to sign a sheet saying that there was a defective air bag.
Called another dealership and they said the same thing.

I already know it's been recalled because I got an email from Toyota and the dealer said the passenger airbag needs to be replaced.

I know you have, but the other guys who are getting dicked around by their stealerships don't. Just providing the link for the others.

I don't know how to page those other two, but I just edited my post. Thanks

The repair is tied to your vin based off of zone it is registered in. With yours being a northern vehicle the 16s have not opened yet.

they are in a position where asking for a loaner doesn't seem unreasonable. but that said I am an A-Hole Merc guy who's used to getting a loaner for the day for an oil change, Toyota service is taking... some getting used to.

They should have given you a loaner. That's ridiculous.

They offered me a shuttle. I had two doctor appointments and had to run to my CPA.

They DO have loaners at the dealerships here in CO, but they always seem to be gone. They did offer me to rent a TRAC for like 60 bucks a day:puke:

I'm going to get the recall done, eventually, but no one sits in the passenger seat anyway.
