ll the trigger on gears but I've noticed a lot more people running yukons. But g2 gears are a lot cheaper. Anyone have input on this?

The setup matters a lot more than the brand of gears. Most of the brands out there are made by Midwest Gear anyways and just reboxed. G2 has a good rep, save the money and go with them. Chances are, the Yukons were made in the same room.

Any new "best" brands for gears? Need 5.29s. Thank you.

I don’t know about new brands, but after a dozen years or so, my 4:88 G2 gears are still holding up fine. Just changed the gear oil in my diffs after several years and everything looked good and still pretty clean oil.

When I ordered my gears from East Coast Gear Supply last year when stocks are low they sold me both a set of Yukon and Motive Gears. They were confident in both brands and there's no issue with having one brand in the front and another in the rear.

Like others said, your setup and use of the gears will determine how long they last. If you just drive highway miles and the like with light offroading you'll be good with pretty much anything.
