Galaxy s7 edge vs iPhone 7 plus

I've had Samsung phones in the past and was never truly happy with their performance. I prefer stock android. Best android phone I've ever owned was a nexus 6P.

I'm back with an iPhone only because my wife and son use iPhones and they prefer to use FaceTime vs other video call apps. I also like how iPhones have excellent battery life and their apps seem to perform better and more stable vs android apps.

I know about the memory leak from Friends and family. IPhone 5s and 6. Sometimes the repair is complete reset. Others have no known repair. I personally think it's corrupted apps. However, fulll reset does not always repair the problem. None are phones that belong to me.

If the OP wants to stay Iphone great. However, the latest and greatest means no headphone jack. There are some memory expansion modules for the iPhone. Not an elegant solution.

If going back to Android I recommend SanDisk micro SD.

Link: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge long-term review: A home run for most, but not for all

"Performance, on the other hand, had always been subpar. Out of all of the 2015/2016 flagships I'd owned, the S7 edge was easily the least impressive in this regard. It was the slowest to open apps, often dropped frames, and sometimes became legitimately unusable. It's also worth mentioning that Samsung devices always slow down tremendously while apps are updating in the background. Considering the S7 edge's top-notch Snapdragon 820 chipset and a more-than-adequate 4GB of RAM, this should not have been happening. I was tempted more than once to sell the phone purely because of this issue.

When the Nougat beta for the S7 and S7 edge was unveiled, I signed up in hopes of my performance issues being solved. No such luck there - my phone actually began to lag even more. I tried cache cleaning, factory resets, uninstalling apps, all to no avail."

And this is from an Android-enthusiast long-term review! :bolt:

Someone is CLEARLY and Apple fangirl and there's not point in even trying to have any kind of conversation with them. Lol

You can't say one is overall "better" than the other (same for Mac vs PC), it all depends on what you are using it for and if you are looking for certain specs, etc.

Interesting...calling me a fangirl...doesn't that make you an idiot?

Wanna toss in your side of the argument?? Or just gonna cowardly say something and not back it up?

You mad bro?
Not it doesn't actually, and you are just proving my point. And last I checked this wasn't an "argument" but a thread to NICELY throw in your OPINION between the two. Unlike your mindset, there is no RIGHT or WRONG. I bet if I told you my favorite color was purple you would say that's "laughable" and "only idiots like the color purple. Red is the BEST COLOR!"

Not sure how anything I said was "cowardly", maybe you should re look up that definition.

I hope your day turns out better. :)

Not mad dude. Just hoping that you can bring some facts to back up your points. Just throw insults out with nothing to back it up. That is cowardly IMHO.

There's no point because unless I 100% agree with everything you say (with no questions asked) I will be wrong, no matter what. Also, I wasn't aware that you were the OP that had the question in the first place. The only facts I need to "back up my points" are the fact that you can't say one thing is overall better than the other. You can't say and Audi A8L is a better vehicle than a T4R, it doesn't work like that. If you want to go fast, you get the Audi; if you want to drive up a mountain, you get the T4R. That's it. I don't know why that is so hard for you to comprehend.

And, I didn't insult anyone, that was all you.

Again, ok...so, what exactly makes something better as an android (or windows) user like yourself? Simple enough, no? My guess here is that you got butt hurt from what i wrote yet have no real knowledge...so, just throw out random insult.

As for insult...read your first post in this thread. You're an idiot. That's not an insult from me...that was all you. :thumb3:

Jeez what a way to revive a thread....
Well I may have bumped my head when considering a galaxy, there was a reason I switched to iPhone in the first place.
I was/am frustrated because by definition my phone did have a memory leak. Not someone I know or a friend of a friend.
I am still dealing with this issue but am considering trading up to a 128gb model, and this crap better not happen again.

Define memory leak from your iPhone. Apps crashing when you have a lot of apps open? Or are you running out of storage GB for your apps?

Who is your carrier?

No I don't own a windows phone, and calling someone a fangirl is not an insult. If you are passionate about something you should be proud of it and own it (not be condescending to people that have a different opinion than you). I am far from butthurt, sorry not gonna happen. Calling someone an idiot immediately because you didn't like what they said? That's being butthurt (Also, insinuating that all android and windows users are idiots is also an insult, among many from you already to me and others in this thread. Just FYI). I have plenty of "real knowledge" and I couldn't care less about your opinions.

You still aren't understanding the concept of people having different wants/needs and one may suit one person better than another, regardless of what it is (color, expandable memory, battery life, etc.). That is the only point I was making. But, unfortunately I've already wasted too much time today on keyboard warriors, :typing: like yourself, and will no longer be responding to you.

Silent treatment now? LOL

"Fangirl" is not an insult? You ARE an idiot...no one else in this thread...just you. yes, YOU.

Color?! :wtf: That is your "real knowledge"? Ok, now THAT is pretty damn funny!

Silent treatment and now color!! And you call me a fan girl?!!! Yikes! Open the closet doors!!

Have a good weekend.

I know there have been issues with some of the updates and doing a full wipe and reload can fix it, or if they send out a fix. Make sure everything is up to date if you haven't already. And doing a factory reset periodically is not a bad idea either, make sure you always have your backups up to date and you won't have to worry about losing anything important. There is such thing as "virus' " for phones and they can eat your memory and slow the phone down to the point where you can't use it, just like on computers.

Running out of storage after deleting EVERYTHING. No apps no music no pictures, nothing. Clearing cached data , everything I've read that can help.
So when it started I did the above thinking "dam I shoulda got the 64 or 128". So I have several gb left after that. Wake up the next day with no apps open and I have less than 100 mbs available . Within hours I have 0 memory. And that's what I've been dealing with ever since

I have sprint

Maybe i am misunderstanding you. Your internal storage GB (not RAM)...16GB (probably 11 GB of true storage) is running out, right?

Do you store a lot of texts or attachments or video in text messaging?

Have you set your phone as NEW iPhone, instead of restoring from "backups"?

Do you backup to iTunes? Or iCloud?

Go to SETTINGS...then GENERAL...scroll down to "STORAGE & ICLOUD USAGE"....click "STORAGE" (not iCloud)..."MANAGE STORAGE"...what do you see?

That should answer your question as to where your storage went. For example, i have over 9 GB in my text messages alone!!!

Can you specify as resetting to NEW?
A problem that has accompanied this is I cannot open my iCloud to check for/ but more storage, I also cannot open the App Store successfully. I have reset the network settings still nope.
I regularly delete all stored text, cached data for safari just to gain a couple hundred mbs at best and be able to use the phone.
So under the manage storage tab I have maybe 1.5-2 gbs being used(if you add up everything) , BUT at the top of the screen is says 0 available.
So where the hell does the other 7-9 gbs go, I'm not completely incompetent when it comes to these things so I'm over here scratching my head
