Garage Door Fix cost

Just seeing if anyone on here knows anything about this.

This morning I was backing up to a garage and my foot on the brake slipped and my trailer hitch hit the garage door before I was able to get my foot back on the brake. It isn't real bad damage its just bent.

Should they be able to fix it or do I need to buy a whole new door? Also, if anyone has an idea on the cost of this, any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance everyone!

what type of door is it? aluminum, or wood? if its not wood u can hammer it out from the inside, if its wood, use some filler and then paint it all over.

Yes, you can fix it. My wife did a similar thing. I called my builder and he called the garage guy out. The guy just installed new panels in place of the damaged ones. My garage door is metal.

My garage door is metal too. GREAT news! :bigok: Should be cheaper than what I was expecting. Scared i was gonna have to buy a whole new door!

:iagree: with Thai, if it's a sectional, the garage door guy should be able to replace just that section or panel.

WOW...Got one quote on Friday and he quoted $1012!!! I have some guys coming tomorrow to get some other quotes. But I was extremely surprised by this first quote!

If they can replace lower panels, why not replace top panel with a windows section? I was told years ago that was not possible. ??
