Garage Door Openers

So my upstairs neighbors and I switched parking spots, we got the more convenient spot but the remote for this side has been lost. I'm not too familiar with how to go about getting another remote for the opener. Its a sears Craftsman opener but would I be able to buy and program another remote to work for it? Its it like universal remotes for a TV?

No, it's not as generic as the TV remotes. You'll need to find a remote that explicitly supports your brand and model of door opener. There can be differences in both the radio frequency and the way it transmits the code to open your door.

toto is right. The newer openers with "rolling codes" you will need to locate the 'learn' button to clear the old remote(s) and add the new remote. Older openers just had a bunch of dip switches that you can set to change the code.
