Just bought a Garmin C330 based on what I read here and I like it so far.

I'd like to know if anyone has a pictures of it mounted on the dash? Have you used the factory mount?

Thanks! Marco

I used to have c320, which I actually hate. I mount it with OEM mount to right front cup holder. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures. Now I'm using StreetPilot 2720.

How do you like the 2720? What makes it better?

Finally I found the unit without "ops" and "ups". My 320 had strange software and I was told that all c-series has the same software which I personally didn't like due to its operating. 2720 has large display, touch screen, 3-D view, more then 6'000'000 POI, GPS info screen, etc.

I'll be getting the C330 in the next week or two. I don't need the robustness of the more expensive units as I don't care what my elevation is or what my long/lats are.

I simply need it to get me from point a to b. Plus the C330 has an internal battery and since I travel to cities it would be nice when I walk or rent a bike.

to each his own though...

Be careful, c-series has unique feature that nobody explains (Garmin website, manual or salesman). I figured it out only after I bought it. So, it auto-zooming in every intersection while you approaching it in "view map" page without auto-zooming back or zooming to some level which is different to the one before it zooms in. My concern with experience of more then 10 different units, that auto-zooming in "navigation" mod is good, but in "electronic map" ("view map" in c-series) shouldn't be any auto-zooming feature, this is the electronic version of you paper map. If you can leave with this feature or you just using GPS for "navigation to ..." that's OK. I wasn't so happy with this operation, because 70% of GPS use I do use it as "electronic map". Just my 2c.

I've owned both the C330 and the now the 2720. The only thing I liked with the C330 was the internal battery. The 2720 is much more user friendly and robust regarding (updated) POIs. If given a chance to do it again, I'd immediately take the 2720.

It is extremely user friendly and simple to operate. I loved mine too~just got spoiled even more with the 2720. Being able to go back to the most recently visited locations is really handy.

C330

I like it so far. I didn't want to spend the extra money for the 2720(?). I need to save that for speaker upgrades!

I've been reading about the c330 and the 2720 and am interested in both of them. Seems like most people are saying the 2720 is a lot more expensive then the c330. The cheapest I found the c330 was $524 and the cheapest for the 2720 looks like $769 online. Do you guys think the 2720 is worth the extra $200?

Yes, definitely yes. My point of view: more features, better menu, no glitches. My 2c.

Nah, at least not for me. I really don't understand why they don't include batteries with those more expensive units - they have more programming features, but they have to be plugged into a 12v outlet to work.

I also prefer to have the unit up on the dash nearer my field of vision - the C-series come with suction mounts for this purpose and are light enough to mount safely that way.

The 2700 series does have a few more programming features, and their screen is better to read in bright sunlight I've been told, but the 4R's interior is dark enough to read the c330 just fine, and I even have my sunroof open most of the time.

Personal preference really.

I don't NEED the extras that the 2720 offers. It'd be nice at the cost of the C330 though :)

It's like when I bought my 4Runner: I could have bought a Limited, but did I need all the bells and whistles? Not really, and the Sport Edition fit my lifestyle better. I don't care much for the smell of leather, how its cold in the winter and super sauna like in the summer.

I could go on and on, but the point I'm making is get which model fits your needs.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll end up going with the c330. That'll work fine for what I want. Then, I'll throw the extra 200 (or so) towards my Revos :D.
