Inreach is a great product. Highly recommend!!
Bought it for a solo 5000 mi trip to BC Canada, back roads when ever possible.
Use a Nivida Shield for a tablet with an extra 128 sd card to hold all the maps I download before a trip.
Use their website to make a rough trip planner that then uploads to the tablet.
Was able to give a check in easily at night and they can respond so I know they got it, unlike the SPOT tracker.
Have it set to send my position with the text so they can see where I am on the inreach website.
I do the unlimited plan while on a trip and then downgraded to safety when back home and I suspend service in winter when not needed. Is easy to switch plans, you pay the full price for what plan you are on for that month.
Found maps to be very detailed for my needs.
Certainly is reassuring to have the text or SOS feature if something was to happen. Much cheaper than a Satellite phone. Can always text someone if I desperately needed to have someone called in an emergency that doesn't call for an SOS alert.
