gas mileage downgrade

I have owned my 98 4Runner since may, i have constantly kept up on its maintnence and i always run 89 octane in it. But i have noticed a constant downgrade in my gas mileage, i was getting about 17ish to the gallon now im down to 12, I do not drive hard and i have tried driving like a grandma but it doesnt seem to help, it just seems to be getting worse. any ideas?

Cold weather !

Now I don't know how true this is, but I believe this could be the reason!

My gas mileage has gone down a bunch since I bought my 4Runner in May. During the summer I rarely used the A/C I normally had most if not all windows down so my A/C was never on the Fan was barely even on. Plus in the Summer your car doesn't have much time to wait to get it to warm up.

Can anyone verify this? Or am I just completely wrong! :)
 
well i see your getting a s/c gas mileage well be around there .... and it could just be the gas as winter gas kinda sucks you been going to the same place ?

mine doesnt go any where about about 16 or 17 but usually stays there not very fuel efficent of a truck and it cant be cold weather cuz i mean we dont have any here so wat would cause it to never get decent mileage and i can only get 225 on a tank doesnt seem rite just had all major tune up stuff and everything anyideas i mean i dont drive it hard the truck is babied any help on better gas mileage

as ive said be for look at my sig thats all i have done and i drive it easy sometimes
