Gas Mileage

Hey all,

I have a 99 4runner limited. I am wondering if I put a cold-air intake and better exhaust system, will it boost my HP and mileage... any thoughts?

Usual responses are if you do gain actual horsepower, you usually bury your foot in the gas more to enjoy the boost. So if you can keep your foot out of the petal then theoretically yes with more power you ought to have slightly better horsepower.

Or as my grandfather put it, with his motor home that had a large V8 the guy convinced him to put an intake, headers, and exhaust on it. He got a lot more power but nill on the gas mileage increase. He did say it went up those mountain roads alot better though!
