Gas Needle Insanity!

Something is driving me insane...I assume my gas meter float is in the back of my tank because if im on an uphill slope, the gas goes to the back of the tank and my needle goes up, but if im on a downhill slope or hitting the brakes hard, the gas goes to the front and it makes the needle drop...any ideas? Its a 1998 Limited.

Makes sense. Mine does the same, only I dont see it change quick enough during braking. I do however, see it do that on slopes. When going up hill it goes up more than I really have, and going downhill it goes down.

Ideas? Stop and fill up, that should keep the gas light off for a couple hundred miles.
