Gas Tank Leak Repair Write Up?

I finally got under there. I had driven to the east coast for lobster and put on 2400 miles. All the while I had been smelling gasoline. I found that the tank is leaking at the seam at the forward left side. Its not dripping but is wet and undeniable. I was hoping it would be the filter that I had never replaced. Does anybody have any good ideas on how to repair or replace? Is there a write up out there? 1999 4Runner Limited 4WD.

Is it above the seam and beyond or just right at the seam reason I asked there was a issue with the filler necks leaking at the gas tank.

search around... i just did a write up on removal of a tank... you should probably just find a used tank out of a wrecked 4runner, it will be much easier and cheaper than fixing your current one.

Swapping the tank, even with a used one sounds better than repair, at least to me.

Nope, right at the seam and below. I wish it would be anything else.

After pulling my tank 3 times to fix a leak, I eventually just used some JB weld. Granted I had a small crack on the top but it worked like a charm.

Wow, that was ambitious. I have a leak at the seam also. I wish it would fit into my garage. How did you get the gas out, with the fuel pump? Thanks for any hints on this big project for me.
