south east red mud is know to claim some trucks bo. bout sunk my Tundra 3 weeks ago. got her out, but i managed to change the color of my carpet to orange/red and had to re wire the main that runs from the starter to the battery. dont know why toyota runs it under the engine block. oh well all fun though

Got the SS bolts and mounted the skids this afternoon. I may have to trim them slightly if they scrub my other skid. I'll likely do it next week because I don't have a cutting blade for my grinder right now.
Looks b!tchin! Now i just need to order my belly skids! Im interested in seeing how much you have to trim, if any.

Thanks a lot! So do you, I actually sent a pic of yours to a friend the other day who was considering doing the same thing with a Blizzard Pearl 5th.
No not me haha, the girl in the pics is my best friend's fiancé. Her mom paid me to photo the bridal shower. My first paid gig lol! It was tough work but I'm pretty happy with the pics and the family was ecstatic.
I'll try to post some pics but it may scrub where the LCA meets the skid plate at the first notch on the left & right of the skid. The part that may scrub actually fits perfectly into that groove so it may not scrub at all.

I still haven't done any Chris... It hasn't rubbed and I still haven't had much extra time. In the photo of mine (and on the man-a-fre site) you can see where there are 3 notches on the sides of the engine skid. The part I'm concerned about rubbing is a spot where the LCA skid actually fits into that notch, it looks like it might not scrub but may not.
Here's the part of the LCA skid that would need to be trimmed. It will only need to be trimmed very slightly, if at all. Probably just make that corner more rounded.
This protruding corner tucks into one of the notches, haven't heard it scrub yet but haven't flexed the suspension a ton either.

Yes yes yes...Gaterose is the inspiration for many of us who wish to mod our 4Runners. Just be warned this will cost you a lot of money. As my wife explained, you may not be able to put your kids through college, retire, etc...
Maybe we file a class action suit against Gaterose for the financial impact on our lives.
So Gaterose: you mention the rack and wind resistance. Does the Gobi rack make that big of difference over the stock rack?

I'll ignore the rest of that post as my legal team has recommended I not comment on other parts of the post.
Yes it definitely can, mostly at highway speeds and lights may or may not be a factor. The mpg-ometer read 1.5-2 mpg better when I took it off for my trip to WV, I left it off for a few weeks after that (because I couldn't put it back up by myself) and averaged an improvement somewhere in that range. At that time I was spending A LOT of time on the highway.
edit- I was also running the 275 GYSAs at that time
