Interesting. Was considering either the Gobi or Baja to replace the sport ed rack. Amazing how the mods I've done so far have brought down the mpg as much as it has (sitting higher, bigger tires). CBI informed me this morning my rear bumper w/ swingout has shipped. That's 190 lbs more I'll be adding, but unsure of any wind resistance...probably the CB antenna I'll be mounting on there will take it down another 1 mpg.

I believe it was an 80s FJ60, but I'm not certain.
I think, if you browse around the 5th gen forum satoshi write-ups, you can find a part number somewhere.

a set of enkei "port installed" 18's (fj cruiser) just popped up in my area for $350 and i've been scowering everywhere for sequoia 17's with no luck. at the same time, some 90% tread silent armors 275/65/18 just popped up for $400.
im assuming you have your spare mounted in the factory location?
i know you have 265's but do you forsee a problem stuffing a 275/65/18 in the stock location?

I forgot to add that I ordered some new front swaybar links (the Deeza ones as shown in talonjade's thread here recently) as well as some energy suspension LCA bushings (thanks for the writeup ZachAttack). Hopefully I can get those on this week and see some difference in handling.
I'm also going to try to put on the FJ rear springs that have been sitting in my garage for 3 months. I got some OW coils during the closeout and have been trying to make up my mind which ones I want to use, and I think I'm gonna stick with FJ until I decide to put 275s (or 285s?) on again.

you reminded me that i need to scope out my sway bar on my 4Runner. i looked at those pics i think you posted in the sway bar disco thread and i still dont think it would be an issue running with no end links.
energy suspension makes good bushing, ran those on my 2500HD

Little update...
I think I'm gonna use this smoke plastidip to coat my wheels.. for now. I'd like to have them done by someone who knows what they're doing but this will work.
I only did one so far, but I like it a lot from afar
but up close the texture isn't as smooth as I'd like
I finished up my new sub box but still have to deal with the gap from the double decker and get a backpack & tool bag for the gear & tools I like to carry.
edit- I also got my new LCA bushings & sway bar links but haven't had time to deal with it

i wish my cargo area was so clean. mine is piled up to the window with tools and baby stroller.

It is a bit difficult to see how thick it is... I just tried to do two even thorough coats. It says to spray coats thick enough so that it appears glossy/wet, with 30 min between coats. I thought these pics would show the the texture better. I'll have to try to get better shots another time to show what I'm talking about.
Hahaha I just said that I redid the cargo area! I had to clean it out for that, none of the carpet was in there before the makeover. It will have a couple of bags of tools/gear and random junk again very soon, just as it did before yesterday.

Do you use it? I've only used mine once and it didn't work well for the stuff I was trying to carry.. I could've made this work with the double decker but I didn't and then it was too late when I thought about changing it.

True. I like being able to seperate stuff top and bottom. Beer on top. Dirty stuff underneath.
