hey whats up, the runner looks amazing. I am in the process of gathering parts for my facelift and am planning on doing the same grill. I have been searching for the 'Toyota' badge and was wondering which one you have on yours. It looks like a good size. Also what mesh did you use? Is it just some from the hardware store?

Where are your B.A.M.F. skids?

I agree! I thought they fit with the front skid?

I pulled them off to replace my LCA bushings (but it was too damn hot so I ended up not changing the bushings) and noticed where the paint was scratched off so I decided to leave 'em off. One small corner is just barely touching, maybe 1/8"x1/4", so I'm gonna trim it at my buddies shop when I change the bushings. I'll try to post a pic later.

Glad to see your mods have turned your 4runner limitless! :naughty:

How did you make it become UNlimited?
I got a couple of members to send me their shaved 4RUNNER emblems and used the UNs. It's actually been that way for months, I've been wondering if anyone would notice.

I purchased my emblem on eBay, it said it was for an 80s FJ45. I believe this is the same emblem though - 75311-90K00 - OEM Toyota EMBLEM, RADIATOR GRI

The mesh I used was from Amazon, it had smaller diamonds than anything at my local hardware store but you maybe be able to find one at yours. I paid $40 shipped for a 4'x4' piece.

hell ya, thank you so much for that part number. I wasnt having much luck finding the right one. I got my bumper fillers from toyota today and just ordered up the emblem and the lights. i am going to do the grill pretty similar to yours, possibly a little fiberglass work to make it look a little more like the JAOS grill

Nice, good luck! Be sure and post some pics when you get finished, or maybe even along the way.

Ya i will for sure. Hey i forgot to ask... How poorly does the '06+ grill line up with the '05 bumper? I know you had to cut a few parts on the corners. Do you have any pictures that show those corners and that area close up?? your last pic posted on here kinda shows but i still cant really tell...

I had to cut more than that, I believe I had to remove about 1.5" from the grille to make it fit. In order to keep the lower bar and hood release, I had to remove the lower bar, trim about 1.5" from the uprights and about .5" from each side of the lower bar to make it fit in the newly trimmed upper piece.

simple also did the '06 grille, but he trimmed all the material from the lower bar so he didn't have to do as much work as I did. But he doesn't have a secondary hood release.

Gaterose, very nice build man!! Looks clean!!! You know if there are any trails out in Huntsville? Ill be down there next month visiting my buddy...

Thanks a lot!

I'm fairly sure there are a few trails up there but I don't know anything about them. I've only been there a couple times, trying to plan a trip sometime soon as it's a very nice place though.

I meant to ask you if you had the Xreas, and if so was it a pain to lift? I will be lifting my 4R tomorrow, and worried about the Xreas...

No, I didn't have XREAS. I have seen a lot of members with it though and it doesn't seem THAT bad, just a bit more of a PITA to work on.

Not sure what kind of lift you're installing but if you're replacing the shocks it's a non-issue. If you're just doing spacers it's a little more trouble because you can't disconnect the shocks but I don't think it's as huge of a deal as many members and installers think it will be prior to doing it.

Load rating. C is the first LT and has 6 plies, D has 8, E has 10. More plies = stiffer carcass which is good for towing and durability but rougher on the road. I only went with E because that's the only size that was available in these tires.

Most will agree that C rated tires are best for the 4runner, although some tires (especially larger sizes) may only come in D & E.
