Gates Timing Belt/WP

I have searched for Gates timing belt reviews and there are some in the 3rd Gen forum. But has anyone used this brand before on their 4th Gen?

Local mechanic swears by Gates and I would like to use OEM, but he’s also saying it’ll be double the price for OEM. I’m also thinking Aisin kit, but just wanted to hear thoughts on anyone that has used Gates before/reviews. Thanks

Gates belts are good, though I prefer Continental. As for water pumps, Id spend the money to get Aisin or the Toyota part. Gates might be fine, but I dont have knowledge or experience with them so Id defer to mfgs known to produce good parts, even if it costs more.
