I was test driving the SR5 and Limited again today to try to determine once and for all if I wanted to pay an extra $6500 for a Limited with navi over an SR5 (leather, backup camera, no navi, etc.) and something caught my eye...literally. The gauges on the Limited are different from the SR5 and while the floating gear selection indicator looks cool, the glare coming off of the gauge cluster was VERY bad. To the point that I had to strain my eyes and maneuver just so I could see the speedometer. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have a Limited and love the Optitron gauges. TE's have the same ones.No glare problems except the orange gauges in the middle of the upper dash as noted before.
It has a dimmer dial to the left of the steering wheel on the dash for the gauges and maybe it was turned down on the one you test drove.

I find the gauges in my Limited to be the best I have ever had in any vehicle I've owned. I wonder if the test model you drove had some plastic over the gauges that caused the problem.
By the way...I don't think you would ever regret getting the Limited....full-time 4WD, Auto climate control, push button keyless start, lights on the mirrors that turn on when you approach the vehicle, auto on-off headlights, heated seats, power passenger seat, power moonroof, 15 speakers, electrochromatic rear view mirror, bluetooth.....and the list goes on........

I agree with ArcticEd, the only issue I have is with polarized sunglasses, and that's only on the clock/ compass cluster... I love the Optitron cluster!
Is it possible that the dealership left the clear film over the panel (like what they use on cell-phones) to protect it from scratches during shipping & test-drives etc, and that it would be removed during the pre-delivery prep...?

Given that none of you all seem to have any problems I can't help but think there must have been some sort of film on the cluster.
Most of the things I want I can get on the SR5 with the exception of auto climate (still can't believe this isn't standard on a $38k vehicle) and auto lights (even cheap chevy's have this standard on all but their lowest trim lines). The one big negative of the Limited in my mind is the wheels. I know this is a matter of opinion but the limited wheels could be the worst choice of an OEM wheel I've seen on any vehicle in terms of size (too narrow) and pretty much look. Of course I could always get the SR5 wheels and put them on a limited.

I didn't like the Limited wheels at first either, but they've grown on me. I do dread getting new tires though when the time comes.
A serious thought if the wheels are you big hangup: There are quite a few people on here as of late that are looking to buy the limited wheels. Consider buying the LMT with all the features you want, and then selling / trading the wheels with someone who wants them. I bet you'll have a lot of offers!
I thought the same thing to be honest, but 1 year, 11 days, and 19,500 miles later I must admit to being thoroughly impressed with the stock Geolanders~ and that includes everything from several L.I. to VT trips into full on blizzards; to climbing huge post-storm plies of plowed snow; to miles of mountain top unpaved trails and other long road trips at speeds higher than I should admit in a public forum 
and not one single time has that truck not done exactly what I told it to do, and I've only had to lock my center diff a handful of moments here and there. Very impressed with the handling the XREAS allows too- and I drove a Maxima SE before this!
I'll be taking it onto the beach (I'm a surfcaster) for the very first time this Saturday morning- taking a class from the Long Island Beach Buggy Association on how *not* to become this guy Floating Truck!! - StripersOnline Community and what to do if you get stuck etc....
We'll be doing the full air-down and all and I'll report back how it goes, which I can only imagine will be every bit as well!

Haha. And those Chevys daytime running lights are always "out". I love the fact that I can turn off the stupid daytime running lights.

Mine did not come with the Geolanders, but I have heard so much good about those tires and their ability to handle all kinds of terrain and still be quiet, comfortable, and fuel efficent - makes me think about buying a set.
Can't wait for the beach report.
