Gauge Wire and AMP for the fuse

Guys & Gals,
I want to have everything before my horns arrive so I can begin the install ASAP. But I forgot what gauge wire needed for standard air horns, and I always take the recommendation to add a fuse as a safety feature between it's connection to the battery, and the compressor; what amp fuse do I need?

Thanks. I was looking more for a straight forward answer; are you a teacher?

Anyway, my research says to use 10gauge wire, and a 15 amp fuse.

not a teacher at any standard but let me see what I can find for ya.

I need to know how much power it requires to power those horns

After that I'll know what you'll need.

You'll want to check to see how much amp the compressor draws and then go from there. Since you don't know it's really hard to say since if the fuse is soo small it'll just blow.

I suspect that the compressor shouldn't draw more than 30 amps so a 30 amp fuse along w/ 12ga wire should suffice (10 if you want to go beefier).

RL Lemke ordered an italian air horn in this <A HREF="http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2343&highlight=italian+air+horns">thread</A> but hasn't posted any install pics etc...

I really wish I had something like this the other day when some moron pulled in front of me not once, but TWICE. First he pulls off a sidestreet in front of me... no problem -- MAYBE he just didn't see me -- so I didn't fume... But when the road widened, and I moved over to the right lane, the moron started moving over and almost took off the driver side fender! I honked and he just kept coming over... so I LEANED on the horn and kept it there and hit the brights behind him for about a block until we came to a light and then he moved over to the far left lane and goes on his merry way oblivious to those around him... Pehaps I should mount a video camera on my dash and just hand it over to the police every so often and sign the complaints...

Got out of work really early last night so I did it then. Took longer than usual for I ran into a few problems with positioning the equipment, and keeping one of the two horns permanetly positioned. The wiring was a snap.

Radio Shack did not have many variety of wire instock so I ended up using 12gauge wire. Was really thick that I had to go and buy new ends for the connections; the ones I have now will never fit on a 12 gauge wire.
