Gauges and Rough Idle

Hey Guys!

I'm a newbie here and I have to say, this is a great resource for getting info on my 4Runner! I have a 1990 V6 and have found that the goofballs at Jiffy Lube didn't replace the air filter during the last go around. So it seems my truck has been horsing down dirty Los Angeles air for the last 3000 miles. I put some Gumout in the tank and hope that does the trick, but the thing's running like hell. Any suggestions on what else I can do to get the rough idle to go away?

Also, the gauges on the right side of the cluster don't work. The tach, oil pressure, and voltmeter don't work at all, but the speedo, gas gauge and temp gauge do work. I checked the fuses, and they're all fine. Anyone else have this problem?

well replace your filter (if you havent already) and run a good fuel injection system cleaner though....i always change my own oil and filters. cheaper and you dont have to worry about some stupid a$$ forgetting something you paid for.

That was going to be my next step. I dread taking it apart, but I guess it's got to be done. I guess I'm going to have to get a Chilton or Haynes manual. I always hate going into the dash on account of rattles and things like that that pop up later. Then again, I've made plenty of them go away after finding something that wasn't secured properly.
