i just ran the white rim trail in my stock '00 4runner with 31" BFG KO2. beautiful trail, amazing scenery and as long as you aren't afraid of heights, not a difficult trail. (i even saw someone in a subaru running it. )

What did you do about camping along the way? Or did you do it in one day?

I've heard camping on the white rim is very limited...

I am usually too late in deciding plans to reserve anything nice and end up staying at Sand Flats or Area BFE

Camping on the White Rim is permit only, and if you wait until the last minute you'll have a super hard time getting a site. And while you could theoretically drive it in a day, you'll miss all the good stuff and won't have any fun. I recommend learning to plan ahead if you want to do White Rim right.

correct. we had reservations for two nights, which made for nice days of driving and lots of stops for pics.

I'm going to have to bail on this trip. I am hitting the White Rim Trail in late June though for two days on the way back from Denver. There are plenty of open campsites at this time because it will be so hot, I assume. I reserved a spot at White Crack which is about halfway along the WRT.

Bummer! We would have loved to have the company. We are camping at Devils Kitchen for 2 nights and New Bates for 1. I'll have to do White Rim another time.
