gear shift wont move

Climb in underneath and make sure there is not something preventing the transmission shift linkage from moving or binding. Perhaps you can see what is causing it to be so stiff.
I've caught branches and sticks up in mine a couple of times that prevented it from moving. I would not be forcing it however unless you want more problems compounded on.

Thanks for the advice.. I looked at the shifting linkage and nothing is blocking it... I'm going to take apart the interior to see if anything is blocking the shifter itself because the linkage looks in-obstructed...

Does anyone else have any advice? Experience with this??? It was working fine all weekend/ week driving over 700 miles from SF to LA and back

Transmission lock out

We had some minor rain this last weekend with a few puddles to drive through.
No problem normally. Once I made it to HD and parked, did my shopping, back out to the car, started fine, I couldn't get the shifter to move. Fortunately I found a guy familiar with my problem and showed me the Lock out release on the shifter panel. After a few days still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Was it the puddle I drove through? Once I was back on the highway I also noticed that the Cruise control light was blinking and not engaging. Help!

Seems like the standard practice here is to check for fuses. Verify they are all good.

I'm guessing the Brake Light fuse, as that is what probably upset the Cruise Control system. It needs working Brake Light circuit so it is able to disengage when you step on the brake.

Do NOT just look at it--use a meter, test light, or swap in a known good fuse.
