Need Power back after lift

Hi everyone this is my first post and I am new i have learned so much though T4R.org however I have no idea what I am doing in this area of auto mechanics so my dilemma is, I just do not know what gear ratio to go i have 285/75/16 with a 3inch toytec boss lift and i have lost a noticeable amount of power i do drive it on the highway as well as off-road quite a bit. Any thoughts and comments would be much appreciated Thanks Guys!

Install a set of 4.56 gears, 4.88's will be too much if you do a lot of hwy driving. I was quoted about $1700-2200 installed.

Play with this: Gear Ratio Calculator

Plug in your stock gears and tire size, find your RPM at x MPH. Then plug in your new tire size and play with the gear ratios until you find the one that gets you closest to the stock RPM to MPH ratio. It probably won't be exact, so err on the side of high RPMs.

I also asked this and came to the conclusion that 4.56 is the best option for some highway driving and some more low end torque off road

ok thank you seperate topic i cant get my sway bar links off for the life of me any idea should i grind it off? or try and work the bolts

4.11 will be too underpowered? i have read that it is the closest to stock off-road and highway with 285/75/16. However there are so many different opinions i suppose when it gets down to it it is personal preference

I can appreciate the concern over maintaining stock-like drivability by being conservative with your gearing. However, having a modified '89 Ford Mustang 5.0L that came stock with 3.08's and then changed to 4.10's, the car launches and pulls real hard. It felt a 1000lbs lighter. It really turned up the fun factor. 4Runners do not have big powerful engines and really could take advantage of more low-end torque multiplication. If you could get some neck-snapping acceleration, be able to cruise effortlessly up an incline, etc. I guess I am not so concerned about fuel economy or another 500-1000 RPM at highway speeds.
