I've been searching and piecing info together from multiple sites. I have an appointment coming up for a tranny flush on the 89 3VZE auto.
Seems to be some disagreement on whether to drain running the engine to push the fluid out while replacing it, or to flush. Also the whole Dextron II to VI being that GM only states backward compatibility on GM transmission but other makers state compatibility with Dex III in Toyota trannies and dex III replaced II.
Given that the flush is $200 bucks and does not drop the pan and clean the screen... (another $300) it may make more sense to do it myself... but then there is the mixing of different tranny fluids to apparently consider. Most of the info I have seen is from 2010 or older... a lot of anecdotal evidence out there ie… 'this works for me'.
I am hoping to get a better pic of this process and titled it so that it might show up in a freaking search... for others.
NEVER MIND... the industry has it figured out... just not well documented on the net.
