GEN8 Maps for Navigation

I got the below email from the dealer today advertising a map update which of course is not free. I definitely won't be paying $169 since the navigation is not that impressive to begin with, and I have better apps on my phone. That being said, I would be interested if anyone aware of somewhere I can download the file and update it myself. Anyone? I know it can be done for the Entune updates, so hopefully this is the same deal.

Went online and got the disc for I think the $40 range. Labeling, etc appeared OEM. Installed and works fine.

BColts could you elaborate where you found the disc update I'd be interested in buying as well for my 2012 4runner

Hate to say it, but a disc won't work in a 2012 with Entune. Nav update is done through USB port, to my knowledge it can only be done by the dealer :crybaby:

Sorry, entune is apparently different than the system in my 2010 as far as how it's updated.

I just spoke to my local dealership. The EnTune update SD card for my 2015 TEP is $169 at Toyota of Boerne (Texas). However, what they have in stock is from 2015???

I am sorry but I don't remember the online company I ultimately went with. I just googled "Toyota 4Runner navigation disc" or something similar and then started reading the reviews and comparing prices. For the price difference of getting it from the dealer, I figured if it didn't work I would write it off to internet education.
