General Upkeep

Everyone,
As I have posted in other threads I am trying to do more of my own maintenance....my fear is that I will miss something and it will end up costing me more money. What is everyone's suggestions to stay on top of things. How do I check brakes etc...

You're going to have to be a little more specific.

As far as brakes:

check color & level of fluid
check pad thickness
check calipers for seizing (if 4th gen) make sure pistons compress
rotor surface should be smooth

Thank you! Wasn't necessarily just speaking about brakes...more kind of what to watch for....don't want to try and save a few bucks and costs myself a fortune. I thinking like how you do a walk around your house and look for little problems before they become big. Suggested check list etc....
