Genreal vs. Toyo. Suggestions?

Okay so some of you guys might know I've been on deployment of course, and I have had oodles of time to do research on tires and gears. As far as tires go I am stuck between the Toyo Open country Trail, and the General Grabber, both are great tires, but which ones should I go with? Size will be 315/75/16. I have come to the decision that I am going to go with 4.88s and I'm going to go through ECGS. Save some money while I'm at it, and be able to spend some quality time with a wrench and my 4runner.

They're both good tires. Look up price/mile costs on each of them, and then compare treadlife warranty. I'd probably pick the Toyos, but I haven't done the research yet.

Both are on the heavier side, especially when that big. Personally I'd go with the Toyos. I had a set on my previous truck and they were great in everything they went through. They got loud when they wore down, but didn't bother me too much. I did have one wear down faster than the other three, but not sure that was the tires problem.
I really like the look of the Generals (I'm assuming you mean the Red Letters) but I've read of some turning pink after a while. And airing down can cause the letters to come off the sidewall. One guy, ScoobyDan? had the full warranty from Discount on a set, but when he needed to replace it, General didn't have any in stock and had no date for when they would be back. plus I've read that the General's are good for going fast in dirt, but not the best for any rocks or mud.

yeah I saw that, I have my heart set on the toyos but one can never be too cautious with tires haha.

Can't go wrong with them. Mine lasted a long time, and they looked badass. My truck had a 350 in it, so the weight wasn't a problem then. I'm sure with a regear you'd be fine though.

heck yeah, I like them too, but research is research, and this just confirms my research haha.
