Gentex mirror install part 2

I purchased a gentex auto dim mirror with compass to install on my 04 sport. The problem is that I only have a short piece of wire to hook it up. I called gentex and they passed me on to the mito corperation. They would not sell me the wiring harness. So my question is, does anybody know where i can get the wiring harness so i can get my mirror to work in my 4runner. Any help would be great.

Call Brandsport, they might be able to help. Do you have the plug in the back of the mirror? If you do then there are only 2 wires to hook up so why not add on enough wire to reach the drivers side kick panel area. Just solder on more wire. http://www.brandsport.com/gntx-50-genk5.html

Will the Gentex mount on the OEM glass button?

Does it only require power and ground (i.e. is the compass position sensor in the mirror itself)?

Yes, there's a calibration process involved once you set your geographical location.

The aftermarket mirror fits on the factory windshield perfectly. I decided to just solder on wire to proved power to it, now my question is which wires do i use. I only need a power and a ground. The wiring harness that plugs into the mirror has the following wires: black, gray, green, red, and red with a black stripe. Any help would be great!!

Odd that it would come with so many different wires, however if you go to the Brandsport web address I gave you and go to installation instructions you will see that the black wire is ground and the red wire goes to +12v switched.
