Gentex mirror intall help!!!

I just bought a Gentex mirror w/compass off E-Bay. I don't have any problem with the install. I need help with wiring. The mirror has 5 wires coming out of it (brown, gray, red, green, black) As I understand with the compass only I only have to hook up a hot feed and a ground. obviously the black is the ground, so which one is the hot wore or will i have to hook up more than 2 wires? thanks for the help!

i dont know which one you have but the one we have only have 2 wire.

i believe the other wires are for other functions.. ie temperature guage.

because of your writeup a just ordered a Gentex 21 autodimming mirror with a compass and a thermostat for my 2002 4runner.

it should be here by this weekend. i cant wait to isntall it!

congrats.

youre thermo will be a little tougher to install as i think you have to run it to the front of the runner.
