Getting another 4 Runner

Hi Thai,

Well I gave in and took your advice I picked up instead of a RX350 went with a RX400h. Hopefully the hybrid will save me some gas and I read so far, the car will be awesome.

Kenny

Congrats on the new RX400h. You will surely love it. My mom has one and it is a GREAT car. I love driving it as much as my 4Runner. I would definitely consider an RX when I am ready to sell the 4Runner (looking far into the future). The ride is smooth, interior is quiet, and Mark Levinson stereo is the best I have heard in a vehicle. The RX400h has about as much power as my V8 4Runner. Having a 4Runner and an RX400h is choosing the best of both worlds. Since you are from NJ, which Lexus dealer did you buy it from? Also, what color/options did you get?

Congrats on getting the RX400h. I looked at the RX330 back in '03 before I got the Camry instead (they wouldn't budge on price). If I got the RX back then, I probably wouldn't have the 4R now. But who knows, maybe I'll be rocking an IS.

BTW, the 400h will save you some gas, but it's designed and engineered from a performance standpoint over fuel economy. I've driven the 400h before and it's blast to drive. Enjoy your new ride. :)

Thank Uneek. I really enjoyed my 4 Runner. I just wish I got the 2006 4 Runner SE with all the options the dealership promised me.
The 400h so far has been great. Only drove it about 15 miles. Such as smooth driving SUV. Just have to figure out the NAV.

Thanks again,

Kenny

Honda/Acura also fail miserably in the transmission department.

Congrats on the RX400h, such a beautiful vehicle. I had a hard time contemplating between the RX and 4Runner also. In the end, I decided for my age the 4Runner was better suited for me... maybe next time around I'll be rockin an RX :D

For the money, the 4 Runner I tought was hard to beat. Road great and was always reliable when I had it. The Lexus is a different animal. So far so good. Thanks

HI Mark,
Picked it up from Ray Catena of Freehold. I think you live nearby me, we talked about the Supra in a PM. Sold that last week and used some of the money for the RX400h. I got silver because it was on the lot. Has 26 miles. Wanted the Flint Mica but I would have had to wait and not have gotten a better deal.

How did you mom get the Mark Levison stereo? I was told nobody gets them in the NorthEast? Maybe it was just recent but they told me nope. I was highly dissapointed since I am a stereo geek.

Does you mom like the NAV? I am still playing with it, but I don't think I can hold alot of address? Still playing with the Bluetooh phone trying to add numbers to the address book, but no luck.

Take care,

Kenny

The nav in the RX400h is the same as the one in my 4Runner. I don't have any complaints on it and my mom likes it as well. If you are having trouble finding addresses, make sure you are in the correct zone for NJ. As for the bluetooth, if you have Verizon, there is no way to add numbers to the address book on the nav. You have to send your address book from the phone to the nav, which Verizon does not allow you to do.

My mom got the hybrid in August 2005, which is only two months after they were released. At the time, there were a few models on the lot equipped with the Mark Levinson radio. She wanted the Savana (beige) and they luckily had one on the lot equipped with the ML radio. It didn't seem like it was a hard option to find in the Northeast but things could have changed since then. At that time, all hybrids came with navigation as well.

She also bought hers from Ray Catena. At the time, there was only Ray Catena of Eatontown but she now gets it serviced at Ray Catena of Freehold. They are one of the best dealers around! When I take her car in for service, they spoil me! If you have any problems, see Chris (service manager) because he is a really nice and helpful guy. Just curious, who did you use as your salesman?
