Getting ready for tall coil "lift"

Hey guys, getting ready to do a tall coil "lift" with my friend's 2001 sport. We're going with 99 tall coils and tundra 5100s to allow for tundra/906 later if he decides he wants more height. I posted a few weeks back confirming this setup would work and the response I got was that it would. Sooo...

I'm back and sending my friend the shopping list and want to make sure I have the right parts picked out. They are as follows:

Rear Coils

Front Coils

Struts

Shocks

And he's leaning toward wanting new top plates for the struts, so I was looking at this:

Upper Support

Does all this look right to you guys?

Don't really need new top plate. They don't really go bad. What I would get is a spring isolator. Wheelersoffroad sells it for around $20 KYB it's a rubber piece that goes between front coil and top hat...., why not go with eibachs and ome or superflex coils ? Think on long run he will be more happy with after market coils vs moog.
 
He's wanting a new top plate so we can assemble the struts before we start tearing into the front suspension. Aftermarket coils would be nice but considerably more expensive. I have a feeling he's going to want a little more height down the road, so this approach allows for him to step into tundra/906s later without sinking too much into the coils up front. Compared to what he has now (01 coils and shocks with 225k miles), I'm thinking the moog with bilstein are going to feel like heaven. But I'm open to being corrected on that before we pull the trigger on this.

Ok, so tell me a little more about the spring isolators and the u-joints. Do the isolators help with the ride, or what? And why new u-joints? I haven't heard about that before with regard to a modest lift like this.

Be aware that the front coils are different. I believe the driver side is slightly taller.

I'm in the middle of installing 99 talls with Bilstein 4600s and I ordered KYB strut mounts (p/n KYB-SM5184). They come with the rubber isolator and the metal top plate.

Yea should be. Only the coils/strut are different part numbers. You have to really pay attention to the color code or part number. Simply ask at AutoZone ! But I have only heard this on actual Toyota struts , factory struts. I'm not sure if aftermarket companies go out of their way to make two different size coils. I know for fact toytec eibachs are equal , and so you need a spacer to level out the driver side lean. It's basically a game !!!!

If you aren't using any of the old parts from the struts, keep in mind that the top plates - at least the KYB brand that I linked above - do not come with all the parts you need. If I remember correctly, there is one rubber bumper and a top and bottom piece for each side. Let me see if I can find my invoice with the part numbers/names...
 
Awesome, thanks guys. You're being a huge help. [MENTION=46730]MONTYMTB[/MENTION] yeah, if you van find those part numbers that would be huge. I was under the impression that the hardware pictured with the struts from wheelers would be all we need, but if not, then I'm doubly glad I posted to ask.

Since we're on the topic of new hardware, what about the nuts that reconnect the strut to the truck? Has anyone replaced those instead of reusing the odd ones? Would be nice to put some shiny ones in instead of seeing rusty nuts on new suspension.

I put 4600s on mine, and I had to order numbers 23, 24 & 25 in that diagram. Since you're getting the 5100, you would need to verify with the vendor as to whether or not they come with them. Mine did not, and on the vendor page for the 4600 I ordered it stated that you had to reuse some of the original hardware - I don't see that statement on the page that you linked for the front struts, but you need to make sure.
