Getting rid of 4R, need some advice

Despite the 4R performing admirably, after seven years and 78K miles, I'm finally ready to move on to something new. So I'll either be trading(most likely), or selling outright, my 2004 4R SR5 4x4 with a V8.

My question comes in regard to the extras that I've added over the years. I've already removed the faded hood guard, but next on the chopping block is the dual exhaust. I've had the TRD dual exhaust on it since about 23k miles, so I'm pretty used to the noise.(droning) My wife on the other hand, hates it, and refuses to drive the truck unless she absolutely has to. I feel that I'd be risking alienating some buyers by leaving it installed. I'm thinking that if I trade, I'll just sell the exhaust seperately, and if I sell the truck myself, I might offer to throw it in to sweeten the deal depending on the buyer. Has anyone else done the same thing?

Next item is the Scion radio, I'm thinking of leaving it, since it is a nice upgrade over the stock crappy SR5 unit. But if I trade, I doubt a dealer would give me any better price for having it, and I might as well make a few bucks selling it outright. Any opinion here? Would you remove it?

Im not to sure the amount of money you would get from the two upgrades, but to me I would consider if its worth the time to replace the new exhaust and headunit with the old stock stuff, compared to how much extra you could get if sold them sperate.

Sell it outright the way it is

Why bother with uninstalling any aftermarket parts? Then you also have to find a buyer for those later on, and possibly ship them. What a lot of time. Would it be worth the hours of extra labor for you to uninstall and package and ship?

Just spend a couple of hours scrubbing the interior and a wax job. And a little fabreeze on the seats. Should be good to go for private sale. Sell yourself unless you have to get a different vehicle right away.

As far as the stereo goes, I kind of agree with you, I don't know if it's worth the effort for the few extra dollars I might get. I may still do the exhaust though, I was getting tired of the noise myself. The level of effort for either of these are not high, maybe an hour for exhaust, and 30 minutes for the radio.

I'm not in a major rush, and I may be ordering a vehicle, in which case I might just sell the truck myself.

If you sell the truck yourself, it's worth the trouble. If you trade it, the dealer will likely give you the same amount either way. So I'd only take the time to remove the exhaust if you think you could sell it for a nice $$.
