Getting rid of the Speed Sensitive Volume???

I HATE the SSV, it makes the stereo sound great when you are rolling, but when you stop, the bass and mid goes away, volume drops too low, and it sounds like any normal stereo again. Im constantly having to eff with that damn volume button because the 4Runner is so quiet inside, even when driving, the stereo is too loud once I get rolling if I set the volume where I like it at a stop light. I have always hated that damn SSV in the GM cars too. I dont plan to have this head unit for very long anyway, but, is there a way to disable it so that it puts out it's full sound all the time, just like when you are driving along???

This is the closest thread Ive found to my question but no firm answer about the SSV On/Off setting. Maybe I'm just not seeing it in the owners manual???

I noticed the same problem, I would also like to disable it. I guess this will take some research to figure out how to disable it.

Keep pushing the button on the right or whatever one it is on your radio that sets the bass\treble\fader stuff until you come to the ASL setting. ASL is the automatic sound leveling, the speed sensitive control. You can set it to off there.

Ahh that's what that is huh??? I thought it was called SSV, or maybe that's just a GM thing?? I'll go out and try it right now..... Thanks for the tip!!!!! :beer:

Thanks for the solution to fix this problem, I turned off the automatic sound leveling today.

Thank you!! I thought I was going crazy. I turned that off. I don't find myself adjusting the volume ever 5 seconds.
