Getting the Fender Flares off?

I can't figure out how to get the fender fares off to get to the wheel liner plugs under it.

I undid all the hex nut screws for the flare and the running board end cap. I opened the door and in the crack by the hinge, i can see thru into the antenna motor area and past that are the tabs that hold the fender flare into the body of the car.

i haven't got any idea on how to get past this to get to the motor. There is on or more liner plugs under the edge of the fender flare that needs to get removed.

Another thing, what if is the best way to pull the plugs out? I tried prying it out, but they are in there pretty securely. The tops got a little mangled and I tried pulling at it with pliers and just ended up tearing part of the plug off. I tugged at the liner and the liner pulled free of the plug (since the top of it was sheared off).

Are there instructions for this? all instructions for fixing the motor just says to remove the flare screws and remove the plugs. I don't want to just pull at it and tear anything.

I just did this today, i took off my flare and had to use strength to force the fender plastic out, watch out for dust and dirt going into your eyes.

So you took out the hex screws and just yanked it off...??

That didn't damage the body of the car where those plugs when into?

How about putting then back on? did the plugs get damaged by the pull?
