GForce Chip

I don't need to use it to understand what it is, the theory behind it, and why it is not an option.

Remember that trick I mentioned about the police cars? pretty much the same thing. it's only good for a short amount of time though, hence my inclusion of the switch.

Plain and simple, it sends an "edited" signal to the computer from the air intake circuit input by changing the voltage with a resistor. It makes the engine think that it is colder outside than it really is. since colder air is more dense, the engine can get more of it and will add more fuel to make up for the extra air. The same can be done with the coolant temp sensor.

Why does it not work then? The 02 sensor will read that the engine is constantly rich and adjust for it. You might notice something for a little bit. On something like a chase where the extra power is needed, it's not long enough to affect long term fuel trim (LTFT) as it gets shut off after the chase.

For the record, I walked into the classroom once and saw this kid had ordered one. He had to fight to get his money back.

Here's what it looks like. You could build one of these without the fancy little box for under a dollar:

edit: note that there are several variations of these out there attempting to fool people that may know how to spot a resistor, but not a microprocessor on a printed circuit board. it's all the same though.

OK, so you have not, used this item, so you dont know, if THIS item works. Thanks.

I saw a kid jump off his roof using a pillow case. He thought it would act like a parachute. It didn't work.

But maybe this pillow case will work! It looks the same, the distance is the same, the weight is the same but screw it. We didn't try THIS one. :heh:

Sometimes you don't have to stick your finger in someone else's nose to surmise theirs probably makes boogers too. :)

Gforce is a scam. In case you aren't too keen on electronics. Here's what Resistors do. The explanation above as to why it doesn't work is pretty spot on.

Resistors : Ohm's Law

Please don't encourage somebody to purchase an item that is considered a scam across almost every vehicle forum on the planet.

By your logic you should know how commas work since you use them so much. See what I did there?

If is, such a scam, why are they still in business ? why isnt there a class action law suite against them ?
Thanks for keeping an open mind :pound:
Carry on

Mnt.Runner, if you want to try this, then by all means do it, its YOUR money, not mine or anyone else, and this way, you will know for sure, if it works for you or not.

Its kind of like the Deckplate mod, some people say it works, some say it doesnt, some swear by, and I know people that have done it, then closed/removed it to never open it back up, lol
or its like the oil chatch can mod, a friend of mine done it and swears by it even has data to back it up, he posted on a couple forums and the nay-sayers said "it doesnt work" he provided his data, and people basically called him a liar, needless to say, he doesnt post on forums anymore

Why don't you buy one, then I'll make you one and you tell me which one works better?

Here's my question though. The deckplate mod. Has anyone thoroughly explained how it works or why it works with a full understanding, or do they just say "it feels better?"

Sorry if you don't understand how a vehicle's computer system works, in depth, but I do. I completely understand how this "chip" works. There's no magic smoke (well, there is if you hook something up wrong. lol) or mysterious working of it.

They're still in business because many people buy it, and believe there was improvement. They actually tell you to drive it for awhile before you'll notice any difference. That is a lie, intended to run you out of your 30 day return policy.

Because there are suckers born every minute. Let's look at Slick-50...It's been around for over 40 years. It's a billion dollar a year business. Look at early Slick-50 advertisements and you'll find they advertise they use Teflon. Now they say the active ingredient is PTFE (which is the chemical name for Teflon). The reason they use PTFE...is because Dupont (the company that invented Teflon) did extensive testing on Slick-50 and found it to be pure snake-oil and told Slick-50 to remove the name Teflon from their advertising because they didn't want Teflon associated with such a garbage product. So Slick-50 switched to the chemical name which you can patent.

The chips (all chips of this sort) all work basically the same way. They change the table parameters for the ECU's program to read that will make the program put marginal more gas/air mixture at certain RPM's. They have you believe that they are changing the programming of you ECU...THEY ARE NOT. The program isn't changed one bit...all they are changing are the input parameters that control the ECU program.

Correct, except there isn't any programming at all. Follow the traces on their circuit board version. All they do with that one is add up to a resistance and make it look like it has a processor.

a real EPROM chip does as you have described, but they are put in place of the factory PROM.

Wow! I guess I have started quite the controversy! Needless to say I won't be wasting my money on this product. Thanks everyone for their "kind" input ha. I guess we will. All just direct the next idiot like me that asks about these to this wonderful thread.

What do you mean there is no programming...EPROM chips ARE programmed...The P in EPROM...or the P in PROM.
