Took my 4Runner up to Michigan and shot some stuff for a couple days before heading back down into Chicago.

Do you actually move the camera to create that sideways, drifting motion or is that done in editing?

With the birth of our son, I'm shopping for a video camera... any suggestions for an amateur enthusiast? We have a Nikon D80 (no video) for stills and have no idea where to look for video seeing as most of the newer DSLRs shoot video. I was thinking about Go-Pro as an all-around video camera, but don't know how well they would capture non-action stuff.

Picked up a Galactic Grey 07' 4Runner Limited 4WD V6 two weeks ago and am loving it! I like those BFG's you've added a lot. Waiting for my original tires to wear out so I can slap on a set myself. Definitely toughens it up :)

Not enough footage of the 4runner, and too many boring lanscapes for my taste haha. Footage looks really good man
 
This feels like something epic is about to happen, I dig the music or whatever you wanna call it haha

Holy shit dude, I was like "oh cool, maybe I can buy one because that'd look way cooler than my GoPro for videos" and then I go to their website and the CHEAPEST thing I found was over $17,000! :wow2: And I don't even know what that was since it didn't even look like the base camera package or whatever.

But you should totally make a commercial for the 4runner! I've never seen one. kidding about the landscapes, real goregous. But I prefer something a bit warmer

It was -11 while I was there... I prefer warmer climates as well, but Michigan is pretty gorgeous this time of year. I plan on doing a small faux commercial for the 4Runner sometime soon though for fun.
 
Gorgeous work, Eric. Are you using a Steadycam type mount for those pans? Which one? Do you mind sharing what your rig was? Thanks!

I did it all handheld. For the "dolly" moves, I used my truck and held the camera on the edge of the window.
