Sorry to say it, but welcome to the world of Gibson Exhaust.
My first set-up fit like a glove. When that rotted out, I bought the same part #. Same thing .. contact going over the rear axle. Move the pipe forward more, and the hanger wouldn't fit. That section of pipe was obviously bent incorrectly. Gibson, in spite of their "warranty," would not replace that section of pipe, or, do anything about it...
Gibson?? Never again... Fool me once, shame on you ... fool me twice, shame on me!

I had trouble getting the pipe over the axle to clear too. Took it to an exhaust shop and they turned the muffler a certain way and it cleared no problem.
Hard to do laying on your back but they had it adjusted in minutes on the lift.
I did have a couple other issues. The muffler clamps broke with very little force, they look cheap. So I had the shop weld it up.
Other issue was the tail pipe was way too long. To get the tip under the truck and flush with the bumper, the tailpipe was halfway in the tip. I had them cut some of the tailpipe off to fix that. It bugged me.
Other than that I'm pretty happy with mine. Sounds great, price was right and it looks pretty good too.

ok, so a little under a month since i got it installed, and it has officially grown on me.
The rumble is great at low RPMs, no drone or constant exhaust noise during the highway runs, and butt meter feels that the power arc has changed a bit, and I get more power at the low RPMs.

Yes, fitment is good. There's also a TON of adjustment with this system.

I got the stainless single and installed today...I love it! Perfect volume, I was running a flowmaster 50 but it was so droney inside...now its perfect.

Correct, those are the two choices. Keep in the mid the dual side gets a new upgraded muffler for deep throatier tone. and Still no drone.

I traded with the guy i know at the exhaust shop.
still chasing some mysterious rattles, and finally had a chance to get under the truck yesterday. either they sent me a non stainless steel model or their SS models are not made out of quality material.
mine looks like it's been on the truck for a year or two.
Care to elaborate? Discoloration? Rust? Examples of fitment issues? Im on the fence with this exhaust system and it seems like people love it or hate it.
