Globe and Mail dead on 4R review

Nice. I typically hate the Globe and Mail's auto section, lots of poor reviews, and their car recommendations are usually dumb, but this article seems decent.

Looks like a decent review, they just have some strange reality check on gas. My experience shows 13.2 l/100 km city (in winter) and 10.2 l/100km on highway. Just last week had a 1000 km trip heavy loaded, with bike on hitch adapter. And after I got off the 401 I didn't go over 110 km/h and had to slow down to 60km/h driving trrough small towns. I don't see how they reached 13 l on higway.

I get 13~14L/100km regularly on the highway between Calgary and Edmonton. I usually do about 120km but don't really floor it.

I have never gotten 10L/100km.

I guess that maybe because of your mods, when I finally get new tires and roof rack I might go down to 13l/100km too : )

Good question. Maybe they use AWD since it's fulltime 4WD.

I have never gotten 10L/100km.

I reset the l/100km meter before heading on the 401 this weekend, and saw 11.5 as I was getting off the highway. This included the typical 401 trip.... some sections at 40/50/60, some sections stopped or between 5-10km/h... and then in the more open sections even 120km/h. The 4Runner has 4100ish km on it now.
